Germiane Franco has been nominated for Best Original Score for her work on the Walt Disney Animation film Encanto. Germaine had this to say about the achievement.

So excited to receive the call today from Tom MacDougall, President, Walt Disney Music that Encanto was nominated for Best Animated Feature, Best Score, and Best Song (go Lin-Manuel Miranda)! The love of music brings me here… A latina from El Paso, Texas, a drummer girl, composer, songwriter, lover of tunes and anything that makes noise. Having the opportunity to work at Disney Animation with Jared Bush, Byron Howard, Charise Castro Smith, Yvett Merino, Matt Walker, and Lin-Manuel Miranda was a transformational experience! Thanks to mi familia, to my agent Laura Engel and to John Powell, my mentor and friend, who lifted me up along the way, who showed me what is possible in music.

Germaine would like to congratulate all of this year’s nominees.
