Germaine Franco’s Grammy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated score for Disney’s Encanto comes to life on the big screen at David Geffen Hall, performed live by the New York Philharmonic in the New York premiere of Disney’s Encanto in Concert. Part of the Philharmonic’s Art of the Score series, the film unfolds on screen while the orchestra performs Franco’s score live to picture, alongside original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Conductor Nicholas Hersh leads all four performances.
About the Program
This performance features the complete score to Disney’s Encanto (2021), composed by Germaine Franco, performed live by the New York Philharmonic as the film screens in full. Original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda are performed alongside Franco’s underscore.
